Some treatment centers are co-ed. Unless the client is very
mature, co-ed probably isn't the way to go. Women may have women's
issues that they will need to discuss without male clients or
male staff present and same with the men. Plus, both men and
women seem to be easily distracted by the opposite sex in early
sobriety.
There are centers that treat both men and women, but they
are housed separately and they provide separate men's and
women's programs. This is usually fine as long as they provide
around the clock staffing.
