Insurance companies are becoming less and less willing to pay
for substance abuse treatment. If your fortunate enough that
your's still does, take advantage of it and find a treatment
center that accepts it. Check with your insurance company first
and go from there, they should be able to give you a list of
approved providers. Beware though, these days, many insurance
companies only pay for 3-5 days of detox and then outpatient
care. Three days is almost always not long enough in detox for
any substance and five days isn't enough for a lot of substances.
Some treatment centers will tell you that you must pay in
advance and then they will provide you with documentation
so you can get reimbursed by your insurance company. This
reimbursement rarely takes place, but it's not he treatment
centers fault, again it's the insurance industry.
